paris perfect

Paris.  Ahhhhhhhh Paris.   The cafe's.  The wine.  The food.  The MEN.

Ahhhhhh Paris.

No, I have never been fortunate enough to visit this romantic city.   But one day I will.  Until then I can daydream of the aparment that I will stay in, not the hotel that I will stay in.  You see, a visit to Paris would not be a true visit staying in a hotel.  One MUST stay in a traditional Paris Apartment.

I regularly stalk apartment rentals in Paris on in the surrounding area, bookmarking them as I find them just in case one day I find myself actually going there.

my yorkville

I live in the city that hosts TIFF, the Toronto International Film Festival. Every year, the center of the city (Yorkville), is FULL of paparazzi, movie stars, and tourists.

I, was one of those tourists last week.

I happened to be downtown with hubby, the squirt was at daycare, and we had some time to kill, so we thought we'd lurk around Yorkville for a bit to see if we ran into Colin Firth at Starbucks, or Bruce Springsteen at the PharmaPlus.

No, we didn't see anyone famous, but I got to visit Anthropologie. Yay! I finally scored a monogram mug, and this journal for myself, along with this super cute initial that i've put on the squirt's door.

We also walked around some of the back streets of the neighborhood, something I haven't done in years; I forgot about the beautiful understated homes in the area. Nothing like what you would think would be there, unless you looked at their price tag of course.

Yorkville just has this vibe lately; there's not so much snootyness as there once was. I will have to visit more often I think.

mauna kea

I had the opportunity to do some hunting online yesterday for a client looking for a private vacation villa in Hawaii. I know, you all hate me again, right?

Well, I found this villa on the Big Island of Hawaii, at the Mauna Kea Resort, and I've already saved up 17 cents so I can bribe the caretakers to let me just walk through the place if I ever make it there one day. At only $1295 US per night, this is a steal!

Holy crap!

CitizenM

One of the benefits of my day job is I get to speak with people from all over the world. Today, I had the opportunity to speak with the CitizenM Hotel in Amsterdam. As I surprisingly hadn't heard of it before, I of course Google'd it, and voila, am blown away by this unique boutique hotel. And by the way, if you have heard of it before, I apologize, I've been knee deep in diaper's for the past 14 months.

A Prefab hotel. Yes, you read that correctly. PREFAB HOTELS. Each individual hotel room is constructed off site, then stacked together to create a building. Prefab homes, yes, but hotels?

Now, 3 locations, Amsterdam City Center, Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and Glasgow, Scotland.

Check. It. Out.

Ok, you can close you mouth now. Could you close mine too?

Blog Envy ..... Lake Jane

Marie-Eve of the Canadian blog Lake Jane has taken the ultimate plunge. She quit her job and is spending the next several months travelling.

I AM SOOOOO JEALOUS!!!!!

Especially since she just landed in Marrakech, my ULTIMATE dream destination. Back in college I created a faux tour to Morocco as part of my final assignment for my Travel & Tourism diploma.

There is something about Morocco that calls to me, and I have no idea what it is. I feel like I have to go there one to find out.

You can read about her adventures here.

Marie-Eve, I envy you right now. Keep the photo's coming!
