Mid-Summer Reflection

Can you believe it's already the end of July? I know I can't. This month has just flown by, I have no idea where the time has gone really.

The weather in my city has been particularly gloomy this year, so being cooped up inside with Adelaide for the past 4 weeks hasn't been too bad after all.

Today, however, it looks as if it may be a better day! The sun is shining, it's not too hot nor too humid, in fact I think I may just venture out into my neighbourhood today with the little one to our local cafe for an iced tea or coffee. Hopefully August will give us better weather!

Are you enjoying the photographs in this post? All of these beautiful pieces of art are by Montreal photographer Bomobob (unfortunately I can't find his read name anywhere!). You can see his full photography collection at his Etsy shop. He also has blog, and an absolutely gorgeous collection of photos on his Flickr page.

How has your summer been so far? Hopefully the weather is better where you live!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Everyone's familiar with the Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival, right? Did you also know that there is also the Sundance Resort, and the Sundance Catalog? Not to mention the Sundance Institute, Sundance Preserve, and Sundance Cinemas. Oh yeah, and the Sundance Channel. Phew.

I had no idea. I guess I need to pay more attention, especially to the Sundance Catalog. So impressed, so original, so unique.

DIY Headboard

Little Adelaide is 22 days old today. No I haven't quite figured out an official schedule for her yet, she's just too unpredictable still...but I am going to try to get some posts up this week now that I've figured out how to squeeze in enough sleep for me! Yay! Happy Monday everyone!

I'm one of the predictable ones owning a Malm bed from Ikea, but it's DIY projects like these that make me want to saw off my headboard and create something like this.

I'm sure there was oodles of elbow grease involved...but totally worth the hard work. Can I take the puppy home too?

Catching Up

This little sweet thing has been keeping me busy the past 2 weeks since her arrival. Yes, sure I'm biased, but she is the best baby ever, the only thing that upsets her is her hunger, mind you I have never seen a newborn eat so much! We're all still getting to know one another, but let me tell you when she looks up at me from the crook of my arm, all I can think is "we made this?". A true miracle.

My posts will still be totally sporadic over the next few weeks as we try to get Addy on a schedule. Sleep is getting better for all, now that we've figured out swaddling is our friend.

As Addy is taking an extending nap this morning, I've been surfing through my reader trying to get caught up, would you believe I had over 1000 unread items? Not that I've had the time to go through all of them, but I did manage to carve out a chunk.

A few things have caught my eye this morning, which I'll post about today/this week, I hope you'll all stick around to see!

Happy Monday Everyone!

How is everyone's summer going so far? I'm writing the post before the baby has arrived, but I'm sure by the time you all read this, I'll be running on no sleep and covered in spit-up. I'll be sure to keep everyone informed of my new mommy adventures as well once I'm all settled, and hopefully on somewhat of a schedule!
